The Brandon Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in solving break, enter and thefts from construction sites.
Police report that sometime overnight between May 6 and May 7, thieves broke into a new home under construction on Whiteash Drive and a mobile home undergoing renovations in a park on Sycamore Drive.
Contractor tools were stolen from both locations.
The stolen items from Whiteash Drive include a Makita Mitre saw, a Makita jigsaw, a DeWalt reciprocating saw and a Prime air compressor.
The items taken from Sycamore Drive include two DeWalt drills, a DeWalt circular saw, a DeWalt finishing nailer and a Mastercraft socket set.
It is unclear whether the incidents are related, but there have been other recent thefts of tools from construction sites.
Contractors are advised to take their tools with them whenever possible, and monitor their work sites closely, in an effort to prevent these expensive crimes of opportunity from occurring.
If you have information about this or any other crime, contact Brandon Crime Stoppers.
