Nygård, in town for the dedication of a new park named in his honour, donated $25,000 for the park and 5,000 T-shirts for the town to sell. The park features a plaque honouring Nygård and 60 world flags. For one brief afternoon, Deloraine became the fashion capital of Canada as Nygård unveiled his latest clothing line during a slick fashion show at the park. Models included a mix of Winnipeg pros and local talent as well as Nygård’s own daughter, åliå and former supermodel Beverly Johnson. More than 500 people turned out for the park’s dedication and fashion show.
