• The four gold medal winners from Skills Manitoba will represent ACC at the Skills Canada competition in Edmonton from May 13-16. The winners represent the following programs — heavy duty equipment technician; industrial metal fabrication; interactive media arts — interactive specialization; and hotel and restaurant management.

• Take a day and run away with the circus with your fellow professionals, four entertaining sessions are planned for the third annual Administrative Professionals Day, including Taming the Lion, Stop Clowning Around, Juggling Your Words and Diva on a Tight Rope that will assist you in both the professional and personal aspects of your career. • A Trades Information Night, including presentations, tours and registration, will be held at the Len Evans Centre for Trades and Technology in the carpentry shop on Thursday, May 17, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

• On Monday, May 14, and Tuesday, May 15, at BU’S School of Music, the second Brandon University Clarinet Festival will bring together professional musicians, music educators, clarinet enthusiasts and students of all levels. The festival events will include workshops, performances and masterclasses. The 2012 BU Clarinet Festival will feature world-renowned clarinetist James Campbell as well as internationally celebrated artists like Wesley Ferreira (Colo.), Micah Heilbrunn (Man.), Cecilia Kang (Mich.), Colin Mehmel (Man.), Pauline Minevich (Sask.), Jana Starling (Ont.), and BU’s own Cathy Wood. • On Wednesday, May 16, at 8 p.m. in the Evans Theatre, local drama troupe The Outcasts, under the direction of Craig Russell, present the comedic Irish play “The Cripple of Inishmaan.” Additional performances at the same time on May 17 and May 18. Advance tickets are available from any cast member or by calling 726-4591.

• On Thursday, May 24, at 8 p.m. in the Lorne Watson Recital Hall, a Clear Lake Chamber Music Festival fundraising concert will feature the festival’s founder and artistic director, pianist Alexander Tselyakov, along with several of his School of Music colleagues. It will be followed by a wine reception and silent auction. Tickets in advance or at the door.

• On Thursday, May 31, the 2012 Graduation Powwow will honour all graduating First Nations, Métis and Inuit students as well as share this rich cultural experience with the university community as well as the community at large. For more information, email sinclairj@brandonu.ca or call 571-8529.
