The Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum, Hangar No. 1, Brandon Municipal Airport is open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., seven days a week.The C.A.T.P. is the only museum solely dedicated to preserving the history of the thousands of Canadian, American and Commonwealth air personnel who trained under the “Plan”. See the aircraft and vehicles that trained air force personnel and witness the complexity of these aircraft first-hand as volunteers work to restore rare training aircraft. Proudly, the museum features it’s “memorial book” which pays tribute to the 18,039 RCAF personnel who were lost in training and operations. The Second Battalion Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (2PPCLI) will conduct a Freedom of the City of Brandon parade and ceremony at 9 a.m. near Brandon City Hall. Two hundred soldiers of the 2PPCLI will march from the Armoury on 11th Street along Victoria Avenue to Ninth Street, and stop in front of City Hall for the formal ceremony. The public are encouraged to come out and watch this centuries-old ceremony.

The Wawanesa United Church is conducting a special service as a celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the union of the Methodist and Presbyterian churches in Wawanesa. The service wil be held on July 8 in connection with the Pound, Pail and Paddle weekend. Church service will be at 11:15 a.m. with a lunch to follow.
