The city plans to undertake a second round of fogging for nuisance mosquitoes this week.
Trap numbers from this past weekend are generally down, however, one trap at the city's parks office caught 2,016 mosquitoes on Sunday, which is enough to trigger fogging with malathion. A bad catch at the same trap on Monday will force them to do a re-count Wednesday morning.
Provided conditions are met, the city will fog the south half of Brandon overnight Wednesday and the north half of the city overnight Thursday. The dividing line between the two halves is Victoria Avenue.
Fogging was also done last week on July 9 and July 11.
Buffer zones that were applied for before the initial spraying do not need to be re-registered. However, the city will take new applications for buffer zones at brandon.ca/mosquito.
