An RM of North Norfolk man has been killed in a rollover in which police believe alcohol played a part.
RCMP say that, around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, members of the Portage la Prairie detachment attended a single-vehicle rollover at an intersection 10 kilometres south of the Trans-Canada Highway in the RM of North Norfolk.
They found an SUV in the ditch and discovered that the driver had been thrown from the vehicle. The 61-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police believe the driver was going south on Provincial Road 242 when he lost control of his SUV, which then entered the ditch and rolled.
RCMP say the driver wasn't wearing a seatbelt, and alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
The investigation continues, with the help of an RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist.
