Ashern man arrested for alleged grow-op
Police arrested a 51-year-old man in Ashern Thursday for allegedly running a marijuana grow operation.
The RCMP said in a news release they executed a warrant Thursday at a single-family residence in Ashern and found 83 marijuana plants inside, as well as growing equipment.
Police said the estimated street value of the seizure was around $83,000.
The man facing charges of production of a controlled substance and possession for the purpose of trafficking has been released from custody. He is to appear in court in Ashern July 18.
