Assaults keep police busy

A 26-year-old Brandon woman faces two charges after she assaulted another woman in a Brandon residence. On March 18, the accused assaulted the victim, who  suffered injuries to her upper body that required medical attention. At the time of the assault the accused was on a court order with the condition to keep the peace and obey all laws. The accused has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and breach of a recognizance order, she was taken to Brandon Correctional Centre Friday and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing today.

On Friday, a 47-year-old Brandon man was arrested for an incident that happened on March 14, when he allegedly sexually assault a woman in the parking lot of a business in the 800 block of Pacific Ave. The 36-year-old victim knew the accused, who was located and arrested. The man has been released from custody and is set to appear in provincial court on June 21.
