Police report that a charge of attempted murder has been laid in relation to a stabbing on the weekend.
The Brandon Police Service says officers arrested a 43-year-old city man on Monday morning on the 2300-block of Southern Avenue.
Police previously reported that a 31-year-old man had been stabbed in the upper body and neck multiple times. Officers responded to the call on the 900-block of 11th Street around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The victim and another man were fighting before the man left the house and returned with a knife to stab and cut the victim before fleeing the scene, police said.
The victim was taken to hospital, where he reportedly remains in stable condition.
The accused is expected to appear in court on Tuesday morning and will face a charge of attempted murder.
