A man spotted Wednesday night with bloody clothes and head injuries says he was asaulted, but drunkenly refused to cooperate with police.

He was taken to hospital for treatment, and then to jail. Police say it turned out that he was bound by two separate court orders that prohibited from drinking.

Officers were called to the 700-block of 23rd Street at around 9 p.m. by reports of the bloody man, who was walking around in the area. They eventually caught up to him in the 1500-block of Park Avenue.

The 32-year-old man said that he had been assaulted, but wouldn't give any details. After he was released from hospital, he was taken to jail overnight on account of the court order breaches.

He was to appear in court Thursday.
