Boxing Day shoppers line up for deals

It was an early rise for many Brandonites today, as they went out to hunt for Boxing Day deals.

When Extreme Electronics opened its doors at 7 a.m., a handful of people were waiting to get inside to buy TVs, sound systems and other marked down goods.

Chris Waugh was one of the first people to get in the doors at Extreme Electronics. He arrived at the store at 6:30 a.m. to make sure he got the TV he had been eyeing.

Waugh said this was the first time he came out in the early hours to shop on Boxing Day, and noticed how nice and polite everyone was.

"The difference between Black Friday in the states, and Boxing Day here ... there’s fights and riots and mob mentality and up here in Canada it’s, 'no please, after you'," he said.
