A Brandon man pulled over for speeding along the Trans-Canada highway east of Portage faces multiple charges after being found with a wad of cash and a military-style bayonet.
Portage la Prairie RCMP say that they pulled over the vehicle last Friday at about 1 p.m., although they only reported the incident this morning.
After stopping the man for speeding, police say they found that he was breaching court-imposed conditions, and he was arrested.
A subsequent search found about $10,000 in cash and the bayonet.
Nolan Lockhart, 20, of Brandon has been charged with possession of the proceeds of crime, breach of recognizance, resisting arrest and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He remains in custody.
Police say they continue to investigate, and offered no further information.
