Canada Games bid process accelerated

The Canada Games Council has accelerated the process Brandon’s host committee will use to bid for the 2017 Canada Summer Games.

Information for the technical review will now be due May 31, and the bid proposal deadline has shifted to July 30. That means the Canada Games Council’s bid evaluation committee will do site visits at prospective venues in September.

The final evaluation by the Canada Games Council will take place in November. If Brandon’s bid is accepted, a joint announcement with the Province of Manitoba and the Canada Games Council will take place after that.

If successful, Brandon will become the only community in Canada to host three Canada Games events.
