Car on curb was stolen; driver drunk: Police
Police say a driver first went over the curb, then blew over on a breathalyzer, and was behind the wheel of a stolen car.
Officers were called to the suspected impaired driver at about 9 p.m. on Saturday. The vehicle, a 1995 Chrysler Intrepid, was found in the 600-block of 10th Street, on the wrong side of the road, hung up on the curb.
The driver, a woman who was the only person in the vehicle, appeared intoxicated, police say, and was arrested. She later supplied breath samples that showed an alcohol content more than double the legal limit.
Police also learned that the car was stolen. They keys had apparently been swiped, along with other items, during a break-in to a home in the 300-block of Seventh Street.
A 19-year-old Brandon woman was to appear in court on Sunday morning, charged with break, enter and theft, theft of vehicle, impaired driving and several Highway Traffic Act offences.
