Brandon police are investigating a number of minor thefts and break-ins reported in the past day.
The first was an unlocked vehicle that was rummaged through while parked in the 700-block of Seventh Street overnight Tuesday. Although it wasn't damaged, a baseball bat was stolen from inside.
Another was reported to have happened the same night, on Daly Crescent, where two unlocked vehicles parked in the same driveway were alsogone through. However, nothing is believed to be taken.
Police are also looking into a garage break-in.
One woman says that she heard people in the back alley behind her home in the 200-block of 27th Street around 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning, but it was only late Wednesday evening that she realized her garage, which was unlocked, had been entered, and that she was missing an electric lawn mower. She says it looks like the thief also tried to take a power cord and a stroller.
A Garwood Drive resident also reported on Wednesday that someone had tried to break into his garage someone overnight. Although the screen on the window was ripped off, it doesn't look like anyone got inside.
Finally, a resident from the 100-block 13th Street said that sometime over the past couple of days the back door of the complex was kicked in, causing damage to the door and frame.
Police say they continue to investigate.
