Two businesses on 13th Street were the victims of overnight break-ins this week.
Police haven't officially linked the two, but they both were reported Thursday morning and both businesses are located on 13th Street.
The first was reported in the 1600-block — that's between Ottawa Avenue and Aberdeen Avenue. A business there had its front door pried open sometime overnight. Once inside, thieves stole about $300 in cash.
The second was about nine blocks to the north, in the 700-block, which is between Van Horne Avenue and College Avenue. The front door of that business had also been pried open, and thieves made off with about $1,100 in cash.
Police are still investigating both break-ins.
