Toddler killed by SUV downtown

A two-year-old boy was killed after being hit by an SUV Saturday afternoon in downtown Brandon.

Witness say the boy had come out between two parked cars in the 800-block of Princess Avenue, and was hit by a westbound Chevrolet Equinox.

The toddler was rushed to hospital, where police say he was pronounced dead.

Hundreds of people were gathered at the Kristopher Campbell Memorial Plaza and in Princess Park for the Big Brothers and Big Sisters skate-a-thon.

Police continue their investigation.

Many of us parents have been shaking our heads and talking about this accident since we first heard about it.

This is absolutely sudden, shocking and a parent`s absolute WORST fear and/or nightmare.

This is just a HORRIBLE TRAGEDY for both the parents/families of this toddler and also for the driver of the vehicle.

Many of our hearts go out to EACH of you.

Many of us empathicize with each/all of you and can`t IMAGINE what you must be going through.
