Brandon Sun - ONLINE EDITION

Chilly morning, better for the weekend

A mainly cloudy morning with a chance of flurries will give way to clearing skies this afternoon, but it won't warm up much until tomorrow.

Environment Canada is calling for a below-normal high of -11 C today, then cloudiness overnight and a low of -16 C.

For Saturday, though, mixed skies and a chance of flurries won't be enough to stop the mercury from climbing. The forecast cals for a high of -3 C tomorrow.

Sunday will be even milder, with a forecast high of -1 C, and periods of snow.

Louis Riel Day on Monday will be snowy and blowy, with temperatures hovering around -10 C most of the day.

Things will cool down when you head back to work. Tuesday and Wednesday are predicted to see highs of around -15 C, although mostly sunny, with a mix of sun and cloud. For Thursday, if the forecast holds, expect a high of -12 C.

The normal high for this time of year is -7 C; the normal low is -18 C.
