Chrest to run for mayor

Rick Chrest announces that he intends to run for mayor of Brandon in the 2014 municipal election, Friday morning, with a brief speech at the Riverbank Discovery Centre.

Brandon businessman and former city councillor Rick Chrest announced his intention run for mayor in the upcoming Brandon municipal election.

Chrest made the announcement at the Riverbank Discovery Centre in front of about 50 supporters.

"It's a great honour and pleasure today that I am announcing my intention to run for the office of mayor of the City of Brandon in this fall's election," he said.

Chrest spent 11 years on city council and he is presently the owner of Leon's Furniture in Brandon.
