City crews spray malathion along Louise Avenue near 12th Street earlier this month.

City malathion crews managed to cover all of Brandon in a single night last night, meaning there are currently no plans for further fogging.

It was the third round of anti-mosquito fogging this year, triggered by persistently high counts in city traps this summer.

Normally, the crews fog half of Brandon at a time, and it takes two nights to cover the entire city, but crews doubled their efforts last night to lay down a blanket of pesticide before rains that are forecast for the next few days.

The next set of trap counts is expected to be released on Tuesday, July 29.
