With some vehicles still parked on city streets that are slated for snow removal today, the city has upped the ante: Move your vehicle or we'll move it for you.
Late yesterday afternoon, the city said that plows would move into the core area of the city, from First Street to 18th Street, between Victoria Avenue and Rosser Avenue. With older, narrower streets in that area, the city said it had put out no-parking signs, and anyone who left their vehicles parked there risked a ticket as of 8 a.m. this morning.
Late this morning, the city sent out another reminder, pointing out that their bylaws also allow for possible towing of vehicles that are in the way of snow removal crews.
In some cases, the city says, parked vehicles make it impossible for plows to get by.
