Seasonal baskets and planters will be installed this week across Brandon, giving streets, boulevards and parks the start of their summer floral fashion.

Many of the plants are grown from seed in the city's greenhouse, nurtured over the winter to be ready in time for summer.

Motorists are asked to take note of this process and to watch out for parks crews as they work to place the containers on the boulevards and hang the baskets on the street poles.

Thoughout the summer, too, motorists should watch for city staff who are watering the baskets and planters.

Volunteers who would like to help out in adding flowers to city parks can also come out this week.

9:00 a.m. – Brandon’s Community Sportsplex
1:30 p.m. – Lions Memorial Park
