A major storm that rolled through Dauphin and the Riding Mountain area last night briefly closed Highway 10 through the park, although debris has been cleaned up and the highway is once again open.

Parts of Brandon were wet this morning, too, with a light rain shower between 2–3 a.m.

It was a welcome  relief after yesterday's 30 C afternoon high, which was accompanied by high humidity.

It wasn't quite hot enough to break Brandon's all-time record for yesterday, but Carberry and Melita did. Melita, at 30.7 C, was the hot-spot in Manitoba yesterday.

For today, clouds are expected to clear near noon, with a high temperature of 24 C this afternoon, according to Environment Canada. Winds will pick up to become west at about 30 km/h this morning.

Tonight should be clear, with winds dying down late in the evening, and temperatures will fall to a low of about 13 C.

Tomorrow, the hot weather continues. Thursday and Friday are expected to both be sunny, with highs of 26 C, and a low of 12 C.

For the weekend, temperatures will crank up another notch. The forecast for Saturday and Sunday calls for a high of 28 C both days, although there's a small chance of some showers on Saturday,

For holiday Monday, the current forecast says it will see a high of 29 C, with a mix of sun and cloud.

The normal high for this time of year is 25 C; the normal low is 12 C.
