Cold end to January, cold start to February

It's another cool one today, with more of pretty much the same coming down the pike.

Envirironment Canada is calling for a high of -16ºC this afternoon, with increasing cloudiness and a 30 per cent chance of flurrie this afternoon.

Cloudy skies this evening herald a continuing chance of possible flurries, although skies should clear overnight as the temperature drops to a low of -25ºC by tomorrow morning.

Tomorrow will be sunny, with a high of -19ºC, followed by more sun on Sunday and a high of -14ºC.

Next week will see a stretch of sunny days, with a high of -19ºC on Monday, then -22ºC on Tuesday, with predictions of -19ºC on Wednesday and -17ºC on Thursday.

The normal high for this time of year is -10ºC; the normal low is -21ºC.

The warmest it's ever been on this date was in 1999, when it was 4.1ºC. The coldest ever was in 1996, when it was -39.1ºC.
