Cold morning, could be more flurries this week

A very cold morning — temperatures dipped below -27 C overnight — means we're in the grip of winter for a few more days.

Environment Canada is calling for clearing skies this moring and a high of -8 C, with cloudiness increasing into the evening.

After an overnight low of -16 C, tomorrow is expected to be warmer, with a high of -4 C, but cloudy, and there's a chance of flurries late in the afternoon and into the evening.

Friday will see a mix of sun and cloud with a high of -4 C. Saturday will be similar, before temperatures head back down on Sunday.

Although sunny, the forecast calls for a high of -10 C on Sunday, and a low of -17 C.

Things may improve into next week, with a predicted +1 C on Monday and -3 C on Tuesday.

The normal high for this time of year is -3 C, the normal low is -13 C.
