Cold start to February continues

Below normal temperatures will stick around for a few  more days, as a chilly February gets underway.

Environment Canada is calling for a high of -19ºC this afternoon, with a mix of sun and cloud, plus light winds.

More clouds are expected tonight, with a low of -32ºC and even light winds enough to push the wind chill to -39.

Tomorrow should see a mix of sun and cloud, with a bit of a stiffer breeze and morning wind chills as cold as -43. The afternoon high will be just -20ºC.

Things improve on Thursday, with sunny skies and a high of -14ºC, followed by a mix of sun and cloud to end the week with a high of -13ºC on Friday.

The weekend remains chilly, with some cloud on Saturday and a high of -16ºC, followed by sun and a high of -18ºC on Sunday.

Monday, at this point, looks to be sunny, with a predicted high of -18ºC.

The normal high for this time of year is -9ºC. The normal low is -20ºC.

The warmest it's ever been on this date was in 1953, when it was 3.3ºC. The coldest ever was in 1979, when it was -38ºC.
