Cool and cloudy, chance of showers

Although it'll be slightly warmer than the historical normal today, cloudy skies and a chance of showers this afternoon won't back up the numbers.

Environment Canada is calling for a high of 18 C this afternoon, but clouds are expected to pile up through the day, and there's a 30 per cent chance of showers this afternoon, along with a good breeze from the northwest at about 20 km/h.

Clouds and a chance of showers will continue this evening, although skies should clear and the wind should die down overnight. Lows will touch 1 C.

Tomorrow is set to be mainly sunny, though winds will pick up in the morning and could gust as high as 60 km/h by late tomorrow afternoon as temperatures head to a high of about 16 C.

Through the weekend and into the beginning of next week, sunny skies will continue, and temperatures will warm up — the forecast calls for a high of 14 C on Saturday, then 19 C on Sunday and 22 C on Monday.

Tuesday and Wednesday, with more sunny skies, could see temperatures in the high teens.

The normal high for this time of year is 16 C; the normal low is 4 C.
