Cooler today and tomorrow

This week is shaping up to be substantially cooler than last week, with temperatures today and tomorrow only near their seasonal highs, rather than near all-time records.

Environment Canada says that today will stay cloudy, although some sun could break through this afternoon, and the afternoon high will be just 23 C.

Clouds will continue to clear overnight, as Brandon drops to a low of about 15 C, and tomorrow will dawn with a mix of sun and cloud, becoming mainly sunny late in the afternoon. Tuesday's high should be about 24 C, although some wind, at about 20 km/h from the east, will pick up early in the afternoon.

For Wednesday, again there will be a mix of sun and cloud, with about a 30 per cent chance of showers, and a slightly warmer high of about 27 C, along with a low of 13.

Later in the week, the forecast calls for some of the heat to return, with sunny skies on Thursday and a high of 34 C, then low-30s predicted for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The normal high for this time of year is 25 C, the normal low is 13 C.
