Cooler today, showers to come

Brandon got its first reasonable soaking of the year last night, with more than 13 mm of rain during a thunderstorm, which also brought hail to some parts of Westman.

And, although sunny skies appear to dominate the day, today, more rain is in the immediate forecast.

Environment Canada is calling for sun, then a mix of sun and cloud today, with a high of 13 C this afternoon before skies cloud over this evening. There's a 60 per cent chance of showers late this evening and overnight, along with 30 km/h winds from the northeast and a low of 3 C.

Rain should continue tomorrow, with another 5–10 mm expected in total, along with continuing winds. Thursday's high is expected to be just 4 C.

Friday will be moderately warmer, with a high of 11 C and a low of 2 C, along with a 60 per cent chance to showers again.

For the weekend, the forecast calls for cloud on Saturday, with a high of 15 C, then periods of rain on Sunday, with a high of 10 C.

The normal high for this time of year is 15 C, the normal low is 3 C.
