Cooler today, with April showers in the forecast

It'll be sunny today, but temperatures will linger below normal after overnight frost.

Environment Canada says the mercury dipped below -6 before sunrise this morning, and it won't rise very high this afternoon. Today's high is only 8 C, and that'll come with easterly winds at about 20 km/h.

Clouds will roll in overnight, as temperatures drop to about 1 C. Tomorrow will see a high of perhaps 10 C, but the winds will pick up, coming from the southeast at 40 km/h and gusting to 60 km/h. There's also a 30 per cent chance of showers in the afternoon and evening.

The weekend will be a mixed bag, with some sun and some cloud on Saturday, along with a high of 13 C and a low of 0 C. Sunday, though, will be cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of showers, along with a low of 0 C and a high of 14 C.

Clouds will stick around for the start of next week, although it probably won't rain. Monday is predicted to see a high of 14 C and a low of 4 C.

At this point, the forecast calls for slightly warmer weather later in the week.

The normal high for this time of year is 15 C, and the normal low is 2 C.
