City police are on the lookout for man after an abduction attempt in the city.

According to a special news release, a masked man in an old model beige or brown medium-sized Ford truck with two doors pulled up beside a 13-year-old girl and "told her that her mom was in trouble and she needed to go with him right away," the release said.

Police say they got the call just before 4 p.m. Sunday. After the girl continued to walk, the man grabbed her by the arm before she kicked him and got away. The truck, with a licence plate number similar to GCT 165, took off travelling east on Rosser Avenue.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-9, heavy set, black sweatpants, heavy set, black jacket with a hood, a black ski mask with two eye holes and black leather gloves.

His voice is described as "older sounding," police say.
