Footprints in the snow led police officers to an attempted burglary suspect who wasnt very happy about getting arrested — he later smashed out the rear window of the police car he was put in.

Officers were first called to a home in the 1200-block of Van Horne Avenue at about 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday, where someone had tried to break in about 20 minutes before.

The suspect had apparently broken a rear window to try to get inside the home. He was later heard inside the garage.

Police were able to follow tracks in the snow to a neighbouring home, where a man was identified as the suspect and arrested.

It was then that he was placed in the back of a police car and allegedly kicked out the back window.

A 32-year-old Brandon man was to appear in court Wednesday, on charges of break and enter and mischief to property.
