Dauphin driver arrested after swerving through parking lots

An early-morning driver seen swerving through the parking lots of a few Dauphin restaurants blew over the legal limit, police say.

Dauphin RCMP were called shortly after 7 a.m. on Saturday, with the repoort coming in from the south end of the city. Officers managed to catch up to the vehicle on Main Street, in the north end of the city, and pulled it over.

The driver showed signs of being impaired and was arrested. Breath tests were conducted and showed his blood alcohol concentration to be more than twice the legal limit.

Curtis John Wiebe, 25, of Sherwood Park, Alta., has been charged with impaired driving and was remanded in custody to appear in Dauphin court today.
