Dauphin man charged in fatal January snowmobile collision

Parkland RCMP have charged a 28-year-old Dauphin man with impaired driving causing death in relation to a fatal snowmobile collision last January.

Parkland RCMP responded about 9:30 p.m. Jan. 11 to the crash at Rainbow Beach in the RM of Ochre River.

The two-vehicle collision occurred on a trail. One man, 28, was pronounced dead. A second man, 27, was taken to Winnipeg hospital.

Parkland RCMP have charged Erlender Sigurdson with impaired driving causing death. He was 27 at the time of the crash.

He will make his first court appearance in Dauphin Provincial Court on June 17.
