A Brandon man faces drunk-driving charges and his two passengers got open-liquor tickets after police pulled over a vehicle Sunday afternoon.
They say they were tipped off to the possible drunks just before 5 p.m., when they were leaving one of downtown hotels in Brandon. Officers spotted them in the 500-block of 18th Street and pulled them over.
That's when they saw signs that the driver was drunk. He was arrested and later provided breath samples that showed he had a blood-alcoholl content that was triple the legal limit.
A 23-year-old Brandon man was also charged with impaired driving, drive over .08 and drive while disqualified. He was jailed overnight, then released with a court date of July 3.
But that wasn't all for police. Two passengers in the vehicle were also found to be highly intoxicated and were arrested on charges of having open liquor in a vehicle. They were also jailed overnight and were released after being ticketed.
