Just three people were charged with impaired driving during a ticketing crackdown conducted in Brandon during Road Safety Week — a stretch of days from May 13–19 that included the Victoria Day long weekend.
The three charges came despite police checking more than 4,000 vehicles and drivers through the blitz.
Not all the rest of the drivers were angels, however — local officers also wrote 147 tickets for various offences under the Highway Traffic Act.
In a release, the Brandon Police Service thanked those members of the motoring public who have committed to driving safely and said that thier enforcement efforts will continue throughout the year in an effort to keep the citizens of Brandon and visitors to our city safe during their travels.
