A home and several vehicles in the 200-block of 28th Street were destroyed overnight in a fire that Brandon Police are treating as very suspicious. The owners of the home escaped the fire without any injuries.
All the occupants of a 28th Street home made it out safely after a house fire early this morning. Three neighboring homes were also evacuated as a precaution.
Firefighters were called to the blaze, in the 200-block of the street, just past 2 a.m. this morning, where they found it already fully engulfed in flames. They declared it a total loss shortly after.
Although the cause is so far unknown, it's believed to have started in a carport area, then quickly spread to the rest of the building. It remains under investigation by the Office of the Fire Commissioner and police.
