Expensive watch snatched from store

A thief made off with a $1,300 men's watch from a downtown Brandon jewelry store Thursday afternoon, after he grabbed the timepiece and bolted.

Police were called to the store, in the 900-block of Rosser Avenue, at about 2:20 p.m. on Thursday; the theft had just happened.

The suspect was described as being native in appearance, about five-foot-six with a medium build. he had dark hair that was cut very short — almost a buzz cut — and no facial hair. At the time of the theft, he was wearing a white muscle shirt and black pants of shorts, with white high-top running shoes, and was carrying a 'PC' reusable shopping bag. He also had circular scars visible on his chest.

After grabbing the watch, the man ran off from the store. Police say they are still investigating.
