A family in Brandon's east end is breathing a sigh of relief that their pet pug was found safe — rescued from a garbage bin.
But they're concerned about how "Charlie" got in there in the first place.
"I can't believe someone just threw him in a garbage bin," said Charlie's owner, Donna Fouree.
Charlie snuck out of the house on Sunday evening and was found Monday evening.
"After dinner, I got my husband to take the garbage out and he said, 'Oh my god, Charlie was in the garbage bin,'" she said.
"Somebody did this, there's no way my pug could have jumped into one of those bins."
"I'm just thankful yesterday wasn't a really hot day."
In a Facebook post, a group calling themselves Brandon and Area Lost Animals is asking for information about who may have put Charlie into the bin, which is betwen Dennis Street and Russell Street, near Louise Avenue.
"If you have ANY information, please private message BALA through Facebook or contact the Brandon City Police dispatch for Animal Services 204-729-2345," the post reads.
