Brandon police believe they’ve nabbed a firebug who sparked eight vehicle fires in the city.
Overnight, Oct. 26 and 27, eight vehicles were torched in the Prairie Crescent, Durum Drive and Elmdale Boulevard areas of the city, police said in a release Wednesday morning.
A 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis was also stolen from the 300-block of Durum Drive and later abandoned in the 100-block of Dennis Street.
Tuesday, investigation into the incidents led to the execution of a search warrant on a residence in the 300-block of Dennis Street and the arrest of a man.
A 21-year-old Brandon man is charged with eight counts of arson, theft of a vehicle and theft less than $5000.
