Flash Lightnin’ to open for ZZ Top in Brandon

Canadian band Flash Lightnin' will join rock legends ZZ Top on their Western Canadian tour – with Brandon the first stop, March 12.

Flash Lightnin' started out in 2007 with a weekly residency at the Dakota Tavern in Toronto, playing classic rock covers before developing their own sound. That led to their first EP and then a self-titled full-length album. They've since been featured in Hollywood films like Thor and Sherlock Holmes 2.

The band has a new record coming out on April 29. Called "For The Sinners," it is their second full-length album and was recorded by Juno-Award winning producer Gavin Brown, who has also worked with The Tragically Hip, Billy Talent and Metric. The first single off the new album, "One Pill," has been charting in the Top 30 on active and alternative rock radio for over four months.
