Four Brandon teenagers — three of them adults — face firearms related charges after threats were made and a sawed-off gun was found in their trunk.

Police were called Saturday morning around 4:30 a.m., after a vehicle pulled up to a home on Garwood Drive and the people inside pulled out a long-barreled gun, allegedly pointing it at a neighbour and making threats that they were going to harm someone they were looking for.

With a description of the vehicle and its occupants, police kept on the lookout, and managed to spot the suspect vehicle late that evening, around 9:45 p.m. They pulled it over, in the 100-block of Lorne Avenue, and found a sawed-off .22-calibre rifle plus bullets in the trunk.

Arrested on firearms offences were four Brandon teen, one aged 17, two 18 and one 19. They will face charges of possessing a weapon for dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon with ammunition and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

One of the 18-year-olds was held in custody for a court appearance on Monday. The other three were released to appear in court at a later date.

I'll bet the judge gets serious with this one. Make them sign on a contract not to do that again; then gives them back the key to the car and kisses them good-bye!!!!!!
