Emergency crews work at the scene of a five-vehicle crash near the corner of Highway 10 and Highway 25, near the turnoff to Rivers, Friday morning.

Two people were taken to hospital with undetermined injuries and several others were treated at the scene of a five-vehicle crash this morning just north of Brandon.

Police say that a line of vehicles was stopped by a flag person at a marked construction zone along Highway 10, near the junction with Highway 25.

While they waited for a pilot vehicle, it appears a southbound SUV failed to stop and ran into the end vehicle in the lineup. That vehicle was pushed foward, causing a chain reaction. A total of five vehicles were involved, with one adult in each vehicle, police say.

Although the collision happened at about 8:30 a.m., an RCMP traffic collision analyst is still on-scene, and motorists should expect delays in the area.

Was the individual in the south-bound SUV that caused this accident distracted because they were on their cell phone or texting and NOT paying full attention to the road?

This individual`s erroneous actions have sure caused a LOT of pain and heartache for a lot of other people.
