Free exhibit today celebrates Manitoba food

By definition, photosynthesis is the source of energy for nearly all life on earth.

So what better visual about the importance of food than a synthesis of photos?

This afternoon (2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.) and tonight (6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.) the Winnipeg Art Gallery will be hosting a free exhibition as part of the Food Matters Manitoba Annual General meeting that will include 30 pictures of food projects from across Manitoba.

The photographs were taken by community members and food organizations from Cross Lake, across Manitoba, to Winnipeg’s North End. The display will include projects such as recycling broken trampoline frames into low tech northern greenhouses, turning unused space into urban gardens and the new North Point Douglas community oven.

In addition, the Royal Bank of Canada and StewardEdge/Recycle Everywhere will be revealing new project partners for work on northern communities.
