Starting this morning, noisy generator testing will be taking place at the new Brandon police station.

The nearly-done building, set back from Victoria Avenue betwen 10th and 11th Street, will be testing the emergency power generator for 12 hours at a time between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. for the rest of the week.

The lengthy tests are necessary to ensure that the generators are working properly, police say. However, it's expected to cause some noise.

Residences and businesses in the vicinity have been notified. Police say they appreciate the patience and understanding of people in the affected area and apologize for any inconvenience the testing may cause.
