Girls followed by stranger

Two girls say separately that they were followed by while walking their dogs.

Police say the incidents may be linked because they were reported so close together. No contact was made with either girl.

Just before 7 p.m. on Saturday, a 12-year-old girl says that she had been walking her dog on Lakeview Drive, about 20 minutes earlier, when she had been followed by a suspicious male.

He allegedly pointed down towards his crotch at one point, police say, but made no real contact with the girl. He was described as between 18–25 years old, thin and 5-foot-8, wearing a brown hoodie and baggy sweat pants.

Just a few minutes later, another girl says she had been walking her dog along Southview Drive when she was followed by a blue truck — possibly a Ford or a Toyota — with a cap on the back. Again, no actual contact was made.

Police checked on both reports, but were not able to find anything. They ask anyone who notices suspicious activity like this to call them at 204-729-2345.
