Gorgeous stretch of weather ahead

Sunny skies and late-summer temperatures are ahead for the weekend and into next week, with only a few clouds to spoil the sun.

Environment Canada is calling for a seasonally-normal high of 24 C this afternoon, under mainly sunny skies, but things will heat up soon.

First, with a few clouds overnight, temperatures will fall to a low of 8 C, although skies should clear before morning.

Saturday will be sunny, and again see a high of 24 C. Sunday will be even warmer, with a high of 28 C, although the Sunday low could be 7 C.

For early next week, hot weather is predicted. Monday could be 29 C, and Tuesday could hit 31 C, with lows both days around 10 C.

Wednesday and Thursday's high temperatures are forecast to be 29 C, with sunny skies both days.

The normal high for this time of year is 24 C, the normal low is 10 C.
