Grey Owl reservations now available

Phone lines opened this morning for fine diner enthusiasts vying for a spot at the seasonal Grey Owl restaurant.

Getting through to the reservation hotline, 204-725-8738, which opened at 9 a.m. today, is how you can reserve your spot in a restaurant that provides students a practicum in a fine dining operation.

The restaurant, located in a Victorian dining hall on the Assiniboine Community College's North Hill campus, has room for 65 people per night from Jan. 21 to Feb. 15, giving 1,300 lucky diners the opportunity to be served by students in the culinary arts and restaurant and hotel management programs. Every year the menu is altered to include fresh new items created by the students themselves.

Optional seatings times include 5:45 p.m., 6:15 p.m., 6:45 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.

This annual tradition is anticipated by the Brandon community each year and is known to sell out quickly.
