Late-season snowmobilers and cross-country skiiers should be grinning — they'll be getting even more snow this week to help them take advantage of Daylight Saving Time's late-affternoon sun.

Environment Canada is calling for on-and-off flurries pretty much as far as the forecast can see.

A bit of sun will burn off this morning's fog on the way to a high of -5 C, but with increasing cloudiness through the afternoon, there's a 60 per cent chance of flurries later today and overnight.

Temperatures won't be as cold tonight as they were last night (hope the car was plugged in — it was a frosty -26.7 C at 5 a.m. today), with the thermometre hitting about -10 C after skies clear around midnight.

Thursday will see clouds again, though, with 2–4 cm of snow expected to start falling early in the evening, after a daytime high around -3 C.

Cold air will return Friday, with a high that day of just -13 C along with periods of snow.

The chill will stick around all weekend. Saturday is expected to see a mix of sun and cloud, followed by snow and wind on Sunday. Highs both days should be around -10 C, with overnight lows in the -20 C range.

Sun is predicted for Monday, with a high of -8 C, but there's a chance of flurries again by Tuesday.

The normal high for this time of year is -1 C, the normal low is -11 C.
