Off-and-on rain yesterday will be nothing by a muggy memory by the time this afternoon's heat bears down on Brandon.

Environment Canada is calling for a high of 31 C today — at least the fourth day in a row that temperatures have cracked the 30 C mark — under mainly sunny skies.

Any wispy clouds that do exist will fade overnight, as temperatures fall to 17 C.

Tomorrow will dawn sunny, and hot again, as temperatures are set to climb to 29 C for Saturday afternoon.

Sunday will be a little cooler, a high of just 27 C and low of 16 C, and there's a 40 per cent chance of rain under a mix of sun and cloud that day.

Into next week, the forecast is a mixed bag. Monday is predicted to be 30 C, but cloudy, with showers. Tuesday is predicted to be 25 C, but sunny.

Sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-20s are forecast for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, as well.

The normal high for this time of year is 26 C; the normal low is 13 C.
